We talk all things 'Homicide' David Mamet's 3rd film as
Writer/Director and all three featured Joe. The opening scenes set
you up for 'seen it before' cop buddy film, but Mamet being Mamet,
that snot where we end up, detouring down dark alleyways that
include arson, murder, anti-semitism, and neo-nazis.
Its a heck of a roller coaster ... and Joe is your guide !
As Roger Ebert wrote upon it's release; "Only David Mamet could
write, and perhaps only his favorite actor Joe
Mantegna could deliver, this dialogue so bluntly and forcibly,
and yet with such verbal slickness that it has the freedom of a
jazz improvisation."
He said it right ....
